Healthcare Accreditation Manager

National behavioral health company seeks Accreditation Manager to be based in either Peabody, Massachusetts, New Baltimore, MI or Las Vegas, NV. This individual will report to the company's CEO, and will be responsible for monitoring its nationwide accreditation activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your primary goal will be to manage each facility’s efforts to ensure compliance with applicable accreditation standards and our overall compliance program.

• Primary responsibility for on-site monitoring of each facility’s compliance with the accreditation standards of the Joint Commission (formerly known as JCAHO).

• Review and prepare each facility for initial and ongoing accreditation and licensure surveys, including CMS (Medicare and Medicaid), attend such surveys, report on the outcomes, and develop any corrective action plans.

• Monitor, develop, implement and evaluate current policies and procedures, and assist in the creation of new policies and procedures.

• Conduct on-site and off-site audits of medical and billing records, and prepare the data and reports of such audits.

• Train staff to maintain standards, processes, and tools to evaluate the quality of patient care.

• Assist in reviewing and responding to compliance and quality-of-care concerns and risks.

• Assist in the development and implementation of formal and informal education and training sessions.

• Exercise sound judgment, using personal knowledge base and management experience, to make decisions and delegate responsibilities to staff members.

• Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required.

• Required in-depth knowledge of the Joint Commission standards, specifically the Hospital and Behavioral Health Manuals.

• Recent hands-on experience with Joint Commission and CMS surveys, preferably in the hospital and behavioral health settings.

• Must have a minimum of four years experience in health care management, including quality improvement, risk management, health care compliance, and medical record and chart auditing.

• Experience in the behavioral health field is highly preferred.

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written

• Strong PC skills (i.e. Word, Excel)

• Ability to travel on an as-needed basis. May include unplanned, short-notice visits to facilities. May require travel for extended periods of time.
